BAeR-Agentur für Bodenaushub GmbH has been working for many years with the recycling and disposal of contaminated soils, construction materials and other compounds. During many years of our legal waste care of many construction projects we noticed repeatedly that in the course of civil engineering and road construction projects materials apply often, which are polluted.
One of the possible recovery methods for these construction materials is the binding of the contaminants to the respective matrix substance. By this binding a mobilization of pollutants is achieved. The removal of finishing materials binds enormous removal- and transport capacity and the disposal devours valuable landfill space. Both would be extremely expensive for the client. After removing the transport of new finishing materials is imperative. So must be brought up to the same extent antifreeze, gravel, ballast, asphalt and other building materials. The new acquisition of these materials reduces the natural resource deposits and increases the construction costs additionally.
The basic idea that led to the development of ecological road construction, was the consistent application of the principle of the Waste Recovery, Waste Management Act [avoidance before recycling before disposal]. The existing structure is to be used completely again. As the binder, a powdered rock in the particle size of 0-90 microns is used, which is produced as a waste product of gravel and broken rock extraction.
The existing structure is milled to the required thickness using a special cutter. By the parameters speed and road speed, the degree of comminution of the structure and the homogenization of the simultaneously added binder can be determined. Pollutants such as chloride, sulfate, PAH or heavy metals, which are located in the old building, are reliably immobilized.
If the structure contians rocks larger than 63 mm, a breaker can be switched before the cutter, which produces the desired particle size.
Another ecological thought is the applicability of the method to agricultural and forestry areas and in sensitive areas such as national parks, landscape and drinking water protection areas.
The binder mentioned is a natural raw material. Thus, deterioration of local conditions does not exist.
The process is ideal for the temporary attachment of routes and areas such as access roads, maintenance roads along service roads, storage areas, temporary parking (Events).
If the area or the road is not longer required, after renewed milling it is available again for greening or as arable land.
